During the Salone del Mobile 2025, Salon 94 Design presents a new body of work by designer Philippe Malouin, created in collaboration with Swiss furniture manufacturer Lehni. The collection, Bent Aluminium, features a series of tables, consoles, and shelves equipped with storage drawers. Notably, pieces with legs are equipped with massive nylon blocks.
The collection represents Malouin’s continued exploration of industrial materials and manufacturing processes, transformed through his distinctive design language and masterful color selections. Working closely with Lehni, renowned for their expertise in aluminum fabrication and a family business since 1922, Malouin has developed works that highlight the versatility of bent aluminium while maintaining structural integrity, and incorporates strage and functionality. The contrast of precisely-folded aluminium surfaces against the solid blocks of nylon components creates a visual tension that defines the collection’s unique character. Each piece balances technical precision with thoughtful proportions, offering practical storage solutions that disappear into the clean lines of the design.
Salon 94 Design’s presentation of Bent Aluminium marks the second solo presentation of Malouin’s work. Industrial Office, presented in Basel in 2019, debuted Malouin’s clever use of nylon with gliding drawers on desks and sideboards, and rotating executive armchairs on self-lubricating nylon ball bearings.
Bent Aluminum will be on view throughout the duration of Salone del Mobile, at Capsule Plaza’s Satellite Venue 2, Piazza Risorgimento, 8, 20129 Milano MI, Italy
